Of safaricom and 3g

Its official, safaricom have a 3g service that is way slower than the edge service from orange.
I’m unable to test zain internet service because my sim card is not activating after several attempts, over a month. So its logical that i stick to orange, plus their data rates are the cheapest of the three. This post is coming from an app called, mobiletribe that promises to let me use google services, chat, im. So as yahoo services. Well, am still checking it out, and have already been impressed by the graphics, and disappointed by the way it handles my gmail conversations. I have to read through all previous mails to get to the latest one, but that doesn’t count much because i have a gmail app that handles that just as the developers intended. All am saying is that orange is nice on data, however how am i supposed to access sim services, when such a thing is non existent in this line?-
After testing it further, i concur that safaricom’s 3g live is way superior and fast than the edge which is offered by other operators. Secondly, zain is the most expensive @ 10 shillings per mb for the prepaid offer.
Friday, 15th may 2009, i got suprising results, that am not going to trust untill i get a better explanation. I did internet speed tests on the mobile browsers i use on nokia 6288, and this were the results: operamini 3Mbps. And effective download speed of 400 Kbps.
UCWEB showed 9Mbps and an effective download speed of 1.5 Mbps. This was similar with firefox teashark browser. Secondly, only the first browser’s ISP was detected as operamini. Am still checking this out, and if the tweeking done on this browsers can be done on desktop versions too, then life will be torrent full and people would better lock me up before i become a trillion kenya bob rich.
