Self learning, versus learning in school; an introduction

I’m an economist, a physicist, among other things. I write so, because i did those subjects in my o levels. Before economics was removed from the syllabus of high schools. Am good at understanding fiscal and monetary policy, especially of Kenya. Apart from these taught subjects, there are numerous once that i’ve taught myself. I find it easy to learn by experimenting on my oWn given the resources i.e. Time among other things. Am good at graphic design with corel and adobe suits and work well with dreamweaver, am excellent, given my level at playing around with linux boxes especially debian based ones. Not long ago i did a wvdial hack for a s40 phone, In the process i got a superb understanding of deamons. I wanted this space to be on gnu/linux only but i soon discovered i’ve alot of interests. For example agribusiness. I’ll soon write about mY experiences and thoughts on the kenyan horticultural industry. Having a deep interest in computers led me to my first hack, in 1999 at the local agricultural society of kenya show, held at eldoret the division head of uasin gishu district. The district has now been split into 3. I was at a Telkom Kenya stand where a number of PCs were displayed, connected and functioning. While this was my first encounter physicaly, i was no beginner. I had read alot about the gui of windows 98 and 95, so working around the machine wasn’t hard. However an attendant thought i was taking it too far navigating around the thing, he therefore acted wisely in his own measure and took away all the mice on the PCs available in order to curtail my freedom. What happened next was magical and left the guy mouth agape. No sooner had he turned, than i furiously started punching at the keyboard, remembering all the shortcuts i’d read about. In a few minutes i had found my way, in a way that i now knew how but my now puplexed enemy couldn’t figure out. The only way to victory for him was throwing me out, which he promptly did. To be cont.

Four ways to get things done

Doing things in time will make you happier and most people want to be happy. Therefore it goes without question that it is important to get things done. In order to get things done we need to get out of our comfort zones, and this makes doing things difficult. This is evident by the fact that people often recall that they had an idea once and failed to implement it, after they see some else has implemented it. They then go on to tell others how much the idea was their own, however the fact is that they did no implement it and that makes them unhappy.
According to the ‘done manifesto’ and the cult behind it, developed by …and available at… getting things done is a matter of recognizing that everything is a trial or draft and that the small steps make up the actual process of getting things done. The done manifesto should be printed and placed in a strategic position where it can be read as one goes with their daily routines. The manifesto reminds us that it’s important to do something now. It doesn’t have to be big or small but has to be done now. We fail to get things done i.e. not get what we want, because we keep looking at perfection, and tend to give our power away to perfection. Instead we should note that perfection is boring. It’s important to just do it.
Here are four ways to help you in getting things done:
  1. Fix your eyes here; you have already determined in your plans and that’s where it should be until it comes to reviewing your goals. Meanwhile, keep your focus here, on the step you are making. By focusing on the here, you are putting your power to your goal, because you are stepping forward. Looking at the end result only serves to show you how far from it you are and looking at a step actually takes you a step closer.
  2. Take a step: The notion ‘one step at a time’ is a cliché. You should just take a step or steps. You should make decision and move. Just participate in your plans however small your participation. Break it down to the smallest steps and make them.
  3. Make it a hobby; because these are things we like to do. Making your task or initiative a hobby changes your mentality towards it. Making it your hobby is simple. Just tell yourself and others that it feels like a hobby every time you do it. Think of the task at hand as a new development in your interests.
  4. Smile; smiling changes your facial appearance, relaxes your muscles and makes you think you are a master at what you are doing. This is very effective in enabling you to follow the above mentioned ways. Smiling at something makes it exiting to some degree, so the best way to make your task interesting is to smile at the prospect of doing it.

Become rich. Money rich.

This is not a tutorial. Its not a how to guide. Its the ultimate tried and tasted way of becoming rich. Its very hard yet simple once you know it. Its very complex yet simple once you know it. Above all its easy. All you have to do is decide and act.
Decide when, how and why you want to be rich. Write it down in 4000 word essay that is free from any religious influence, post the letter to at least 40 persons and continue living as you want.
Remember to live as you want. Doing whatever makes you happy.
Just keep smiling 24/7 because rich people smile.

Why you keep refering to yester days.

Hello, did you just say you miss the good old days? Are you aware that the old days are that? Yes they are. So why do you keep yourself old and claim to be young. In a day, how much time do you spend, thinking of those days. If you continue like this, you’ll be talking about today next year. Only that you will be talking about today in regret of why you did not live it to your full. Narrow your thoughts to what great is happening now. Think about what you are doing now. If you are reading this blog, then stop peeping into other tabs until you are through with this. Concentration is key. Thats the most simple solution. Thank you.

Still at it, blogging my self out.

As long as i haven’t yet got fans of this blog, am still free to play and be stupid on this page. I got no one to answer to. No, i have to answer to myself. And thats fun because i know what am going to answer. Anyway i just wanted to say that exams this time haven’t sucked that much and this week has been cool in terms of me being able to make myself happy and smile. I got 17 tracks on my phone and one of them is a reggae mix, this has been plow! To me. Cheers

Thoughts and chaos

Its all the mind. This past week has been transformational to me as i discovered new ways of personal development. I started a 30 day routine, which i will report after this time is over. I have eliminated many thought inputs in my mind like news, e.t.c i’m going towards having a life of abundance as described by steve palvina. I have also watched the secret movie 1st 20 mins that talks about the law of attraction. Yesterday i was reading about the power of thoughts and that we can talk to people, influence others through our thoughts. I tried this by sending a message to someone that i missed her and minutes later i got a message from her. You can call that coincidence or whatever you like. I know what happened and am working towards having a limitless rich mind that is disciplined. Am in no position to fully explain the details of what i have touched on. Further resources are on the net, & when possible i’ll add the links here.

The law of attraction

The law works. Even though am still new to this fact, i believe the law works.
A few days ago i stumbled upon a certain personal development blog that has got me living richly. Among the concepts am learning is the law of attraction. No sooner had i read this, than i remembered about “the secret”. A movie about the law of attraction. Next day, i visited a friend and without knowing i found myself using his laptop after some friends wanted to update the firmware of their phone.
I started out assisting them and when we got to the internet i got to youtube and got the 1st 20 min of the movie.
All am saying is that, the desire of getting the movie manifested itself.
Am still working on this interesting concept or law, and one of my desires is to make this blog a pro by getting the right tools. Until then, adios. Btw am also on a 30 day trial of a new routine that i’ll report on when am through.

The food i eat

I love hot meals, and cold drinks when the weather is right. After eating in food kiosks for more than six months, i have come to see that some foods are difficult to offer commercialy. At least i think so. One of these, is dagaa a.k.a. Kapenta a.k.a. Omena. Each kiosk has a different taste of this food, its closely followed by matumbo and plain kales a.k.a. Sukuma wiki. Sometimes you get boiled veges, or overcooked or with too much fat or spices not forgetting salt levels that some kiosks just don’t get.
When you are craving for a certain kind of food nothing can get your mind off that thought, however if you get the food badly cooked, you feel so cheated and may develop a dislike of the vendor and the food for a while. I think this also happens when you have a crush, but thats for another day.

Hi blogy

I want to write on my blog.
I have lots of stories for today.
Most of them pretty obvious.
I am no longer hanging out with my sunshine.
I want to stop commenting or updating on facebook for a month.
I want to ask people how they are before i talk out my points, and wish them luck after am through with them.

Will i?

I just feel like I’ve lost it. I thought i would take this with a laugh, but it has downed on me, i have this phobia and am now staring at it, will i take it head on?
